The 69th Annual Conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria (AMJN) has marked a momentous occasion on Saturday, December 23, 2023, as it hosted a mass wedding ceremony. The event, held in accordance with Islamic teachings, was aimed to address prevailing issues of immodesty among youths.

During the press briefing preceding the conference, Amir AMJN, Alh. (Barr.) AbdulAzeez Alatoye, emphasized that hard-working Muslims with the earnest desire to establish marital bonds were encouraged to participate in the solemnisation.

Reflecting on the significance of marriage, the second Khalifah of the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Bashir Ahmad (r.a), once stated, “One purpose of marriage is Ihsan, i.e., that by this means a person may be safeguarded from various ailments, evils, and illicit deeds.”

The conference witnessed the joyous union of 20 couples in a memorable mass wedding ceremony, further emphasizing the community’s commitment to fostering strong family values in accordance with Islamic principles.
