President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has lauded the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria for its humanitarian contributions and indispensable role in fostering peace, progress, and development across the nation.
Speaking on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. Idris Ajimobi, the Senior Special Assistant on Livestock Development, addressed attendees at the 70th Annual Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at on December 21st, 2024, held at Jamia Ahmadiyya, Ilaro, Ogun State. He mentioned that the gathering not only celebrates decades of remarkable achievements but also highlights the enduring impact of Ahmadiyya’s contributions to Nigeria.
The President praised the Jama’at’s unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and public service, stating, “Your commitment to peace and unity is a beacon of light in a world often divided by differences.” He emphasized that Ahmadiyya has been a blessing to Nigeria through its humanitarian efforts and its dedication to guiding Nigerians in faith and moral values.
Highlighting the alignment of Ahmadiyya’s mission with his administration’s goals, President Tinubu reiterated his government’s commitment to building a nation where every citizen, irrespective of their background, can thrive. He stressed that faith-based organizations like the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at are indispensable partners in achieving this vision of peace, development, and social justice.
The President also recognized Ahmadiyya’s pioneering role in promoting western education among Muslims in Nigeria. “It is worth noting that the Ahmadiyya Community spearheaded the acquisition of western education for Muslims in Nigeria, a legacy that continues to shape the nation’s progress to this day,” he said. He added that the Jama’at’s establishment of thousands of schools, hospitals, and mosques has become integral to Nigeria’s development landscape.
Lastly in his remarks, President Tinubu expressed gratitude to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at for its tireless efforts and urged continued collaboration in the collective mission of building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
