As an integral part of the Annual Conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, a significant feature include the bestowing of academic merit awards upon members who have demonstrated excellence in their academic pursuits. This ceremony serve the purpose of fostering academic enthusiasm, aligning with Islamic teachings. The event took place on Saturday, December 23, 2023.
While acknowledging outstanding academic accomplishments, members were honored across various categories, encompassing professorship, master’s degrees, first degrees, and professional courses.
Leading the list of awardees was Ikotun Taibat Olusola, who achieved the distinguished title of Professor in Crop Processing and Storage. Among the Ph.D. awardees were Ismaila Olaniyi Muraina in data science, Alade Wakeel Adekunle in microbiology, Abdus Salam Rofiat Bolanle in food microbiology and biotechnology, Modinat Mojibade Balogun in organic chemistry (synthesis), Bello Hafis in Built Environment, Braimah Jafar Ailemiogho in zoology, and Yusuf Olayinka Shogbesan in Education (Tests & Measurement).
Members who were recognized for their outstanding achievements at the master’s level were Nasirudeen Alao Moshood in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering, Ismaheel Ojo Salahudeen in Educational Management, Butt Afia Qawwel in Medical Microbiology, Abdullah Ishaq in Educational Technology, Raji Rasheedat Temitope in Mathematics, Bashirudeen Olaoluwa Oyinlola in Zoology, Kafayah Adewunmi Adetunji in Educational Guidance and Counseling, Afolabi Lateef Adeyemi in Civil Engineering, and Akinyemi Abdur Raqeeb Akintunde in Computer Science.
The recipients of first-degree awards included Abdulqadri Ismail Oluwagbemiga in Arabic, Olatunji Musedeeq Olalekan in Economics Education, Bayonle Toheeb Adeniyi in Mechatronics Engineering, Kelani Faruq Adekunle in Educational Technology, Baiyewu Khadijat Titilayo in Chemical Pathology, Balogun Zainab Omobisola in Accounting, Ismail Ademola Salawu in Agricultural Extension and Community Development, Sonibare Abdulrahman Opeyemi in Food Science and Technology, Akinyemi Maryam Olasumbo in Food Science and Engineering, Kafilat Oluwatosin Okunade in Pure and Applied Chemistry, Khalil-Rahmon Abdullah in MBBS, Atiat Ibrahim AbdulLatif in English Education, and Oguntimehin Hikmat Taiwo in Pharmacy.
Members recognized for their professional achievements include Sheriffdeen Ayomide Osundare for the call to the bar, Yusuff Salam Ademola and Adeoye Hibatun-Noor Adenike as an associate members of the accountant.
Additionally, Dr. Dikko Dauda Alani received recognition for his outstanding contributions as the best lecturer at Global Skills Hub, United Kingdom. Hafiz Fadlul-Munim Ariyo Kehinde was also honored as the best reciter, receiving The Holy Quran Tahbeer & its Science Award in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Finally, Mu’allim Jalaludeen Alausa and Jubril Busari were awarded as the best graduating students of Jami’at-ul-Mubashireen, Ilaro, Nigeria.
