By Sulaiman Abdulqudus

In a recent enlightening lecture, facilitated by Mukarram Syed Athar Mahmud Sahib, Muballigh Silsila, the spotlight was on two remarkable personalities – Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (R.A) and Hazrat Mufti Muhammad Sadiq Sahib. The lecture delved into their lives, emphasizing their dedication and piety.

The lecture recounted the life of Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed, born in 585 A.D in Makkah. Known as the “Sword of Allah,” he was a fearless companion of Rasulullah (saw) who bravely faced disbelievers in combat, securing victories for Islam. His wish for martyrdom remained unfulfilled as he passed away naturally in 642 A.D in Syria. The lecture highlighted his strategic brilliance and pivotal role in liberating Iraqis during the Caliphate of Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A).

Turning the focus on Hazrat Mufti Muhammad Sadiq Sahib, the lecture illuminated his unyielding commitment to spreading the truth. Beginning in 1900, Mufti Sadiq engaged in letter writing to influential figures worldwide. During a stay in England, he delivered impactful speeches in notable venues, addressing figures like King George V and the Queen of England. Recognized with honorary degrees, Mufti Sadiq’s contributions to religious knowledge were acknowledged.

The lecture underscored Mufti Muhammad Sadiq’s continued dedication in spite of retiring from active duties in 1937 due to health reasons. This, Syed Athar noted, highlighted his unwavering commitment to the propagation of Islam leaving an enduring legacy.
