ON OUR WAY TO JALSA: A STORY OF FAITH AND DIVINE INTERVENTION

By Oladejo Abdulbasit Ololade

Maulvi Olowonmi Tahir, Central Missionary of Ado-Ekiti Circuit, shares a remarkable tale of his Jalsa Salana experience. In 2016, he and his colleagues, Nigerian students at Jamia Ahmadiyya International, Ghana, embarked on a journey to attend the Nigeria Centenary Jalsa.

With permission granted, they set off with excitement. However, their joy was short-lived. At the Nigerian border, they faced intense scrutiny. Despite presenting their identification cards, they were questioned and mistakenly identified as members of the Boko Haram terrorist group due to their Islamic appearance.

In the midst of this ordeal, Maulvi Olowonmi and his colleagues turned to Allah, seeking divine intervention. They prayed, “O Allah, we are attending Jalsa Salana for Your sake; ease our passage.” Miraculously, a stranger appeared, permitting them to enter without further hassle. Their funds were returned, and they continued their journey.

Maulvi Olowonmi’s experience is a powerful reminder of the power of prayer and faith. Attending Jalsa Salana Nigeria 2016 became an unforgettable moment, filled with love and divine providence. His story inspires us to trust in Allah’s mercy and guidance, even in the face of adversity.
