In preparation for the highly anticipated Jalsa Salana Nigeria Platinum Jubilee, which is set to begin on Friday, December 20th, 2024, the Amir, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, Alhaji (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, has delivered an inspiring address to volunteers and workers during an inauguration session on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

The Amir emphasized the need to create an atmosphere of love, peace, and harmony throughout the event. “No frowning faces, no anger—everybody should be smiling,” he stated, urging volunteers to adopt the Jalsa United Kingdom standard by fostering mutual respect and avoiding disagreements. He also stressed the importance of solution-driven corrections, calling on heads of departments to lead by example and educate their teams on treating the guests of the Promised Messiah with dignity and care.

Alhaji Alatoye noted that special attention should be given to welcoming new converts and treating all guests—both internal and external—with the utmost respect. “Among our guests are Christians who will be observing our arrangements and coordination; we must prove them right by upholding our exemplary standards,” he remarked. Volunteers were reminded of Jalsa’s foundation in the Quranic principles of charity, goodness, and peacemaking, as highlighted in Surah An-Nisa (4:115).

According to the Amir, three key pillars are crucial for a successful Jalsa: obedience, respect, and endurance. He stated that participants must adhere to instructions with a positive attitude, volunteers should communicate messages diplomatically and respectfully, and guests should maintain emotional stability and patience, enduring challenges with faith.

He underscored that prayer remains the spiritual essence of Jalsa. He urged participants to engage in constant remembrance of Allah and pray for the safety and success of the event. Citing the example of His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, Governor of Nasarawa State, who attended Jalsa thrice before assuming office solely to pray, the Amir highlighted the transformative power of prayer in achieving Jalsa’s objectives.

In his closing remarks, the Amir encouraged workers to promptly report any challenges to the appropriate officers and cautioned travelers to avoid night journeys or haste. He concluded by reiterating the collective responsibility of all attendees to ensure the Platinum Jubilee truly embodies the spirit of “Love for All, Hatred for None.”
