The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria has marked its 70th Anniversary Convention with a powerful message of excellence and education, as the Amir, Alhaji (Barr.) Alatoye Folorunso Azeez, presented awards to outstanding individuals who have distinguished themselves in their careers, academics, and service to society.
Award presentations is a hallmark of the Ahmadiyya Annual Convention, reflecting the Jama’at’s unwavering commitment to promoting merit, dedication, and societal progress. This tradition emphasizes the community’s drive to inspire members to achieve success that aligns with Islamic principles of service to humanity.
According to the National Ta’leem Secretary, Engr. Tajudeen Oladoja, the awards are designed to celebrate achievements that uphold the values of education, hard work, and service. “These recognitions aim to motivate others to excel while fostering a culture of healthy competition and collective progress,” he said.
This year, a total of 46 individuals were honored. Among them were 11 members who earned their Ph.D. degrees, while many others celebrated Master’s and First-Class degrees in their undergraduate studies. Additionally, 12 members were recognized for completing professional certifications, including ICAN (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria) and TRCN (Teachers’ Registration Council of Nigeria).
The awards also highlighted achievements in O-Level examinations and Qur’anic competitions, showcasing a broad spectrum of excellence that spans both secular and religious pursuits.
The session not only celebrated the achievements of the awardees but also served as an inspiration for the wider community, reaffirming the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at’s dedication to education, professionalism, and spiritual growth as pillars of societal development.
